**DISCLAIMER -- I don't do needlework. I don't like needles and needles don't like me. I prefer hooks and yarn, or polymer clay and my hands. So what you are about to see is not pretty.  Wink **

When you have children, you will notice that some things about you change. For instance, you can no have the potty mouth of a truck driver. I have 2 small children and recently my mom pointed out to me that I say "Holy crap" an awful lot. This is because I am refraining from saying the phrase I am actually thinking.

So with this thought in mind; when I found a blank piece of cross stitch material, I decided to give it a try. I didn't read any instructions anywhere and I didn't even use thread or floss or whatever it is you are supposed to use. (It's crochet thread, in case you were wondering)

So, Mom, this crap's for you!

and I did discover one thing while working on this project.....
needles and thread aren't all that bad... maybe there will be a reconciliation in the future  Grin

Great story -- made me laugh!  I also like the way the sign turned out using yarn.  Very nice!

I'm addicted to DDR. I need a 12-step program.

How clever to use yarn! I really like the concept.

I hope you do give cross-stitch a chance, because it's so relaxing - might even help you say "Holy crap!" less often. Smiley

But we have flamethrowers. And what this indicates to me, it means that at some point, some person said to himself, "Gee, I sure would like to set those people on fire over there. But I'm way too far away to get the job done. If only I had something that would throw flame on them."

Heehee, I like it!
It looks good, and if you hadn't mentioned that it wasn't floss but yarn, I would still have no idea. Good job!

Great job! I think you'll find cross stitching to be addictive - it is my newly re found addiction anyways.
My SO is a "retired" truck driver and says that I swear worse than any truck driver he has ever met. When first meeting my SO's folks my Mom said "well, watch your mouth" so I hear ya on the language front.
