Yay for another person signing up! Now there are four! I just hope even more people decide to join because I think this is going to rock.

I'm seriously considering signing up for this swap, because I LOVE anything Joss Whedon has touched, especially Buffy.  I've never done a swap before, and I want to be clear on everything before I sign up.  The whole hour/point thing confuses me even after reading the FAQ, especially because the FAQ states these size guidelines:

By Time
-Big = 3 or more hours
-Medium = 2 or more hours
-Little = 2 or less hours

But this specific swap's guidelines seem to conflict:
ONE hour = $10 = ONE point

Would a five point swap mean that I spend 5 hours and $50 on my craft?  And a fifteen point swap, 15 hours or $150?  That seems awfully expensive.  Can someone please clarify for me?  Sorry I'm so confused!  I'm super excited to do this!

I'm not organizing, but I'll add what I think and someone can correct me if I am wrong.

Basically, a small item is worth one point, a medium item is worth two points and a large item is worth 3 points.  These are ballpark...I'm sure you could end up making a large item worth more (am I right?).  This can be based on how long you spend crafting OR on how much you spend crafting.  So if it is something you whip out in less than 2 hours and the cost was minimal, it is one point.  More time and/or money = more points.

Did I get it all right?

Rumpazel got it pretty close, thanks!

The dollar amount essentially applies if you were to purchase what you made, instead of making it yourself. For example, a pair of earrings, which probably wouldn't take more than an hour to craft, would likely cost about $10 to buy. A tote bag, which likely would take at least 3 hours, is more likely to cost around $30.

hth!

I think I'm starting to understand now.  So, if I were to do the five point swap I would need to make a large item worth 3 points/hours (or more) and a medium item worth 2 points/hours (or more).  Is that right?
