Put me in coach, I'm ready to play

Every year I give my mom a "something" of the month club as part of her holiday gift.  Previous gifts have been vests (those pre-printed vests you find at the fabric store to cut and sew), pins and socks.  This year, I found a kit to make a similar bracelet for Christmas.  Once I finished that bracelet I realized how easy it would be to recreate the bracelet with those button collections you find in the craft stores.  She likes to decorate everything (including herself) for the holidays, so I think she'll like them.

The box - pretty innocuous - what could it be?

A bracelet a month!

Jan, Feb, March & April

May June July Aug & Sept

Sept Oct Nov & Dec

They were fun - but my first foray into this sort of thing and MAN they took FOREVER!!!  (I'm sure it would be no big deal to you regular jewelry makers, but this was a real challenge for me - which is okay cuz it makes me so happy that they turned out.)

These look a lot nicer than anything I would have expected from a pre-assembled kit. I love your own twist on them for the different holidays. Very nicely done.

Great idea! I love the details you added for each month.
Well done!
And I can say jewelry get easier the more you play with it...although harder with the more beads you have to choose from. Cheesy

I love this. What I like best is I could probably figure a way to do this with no metal for my mom. What a stellar idea.

These are fun! I love the flair and different pieces used in the bracelets. Don't judge yourself so harshly! All the "I'm not artist/designer/whatever" people always come of with some of the most innovative and amazingly cool works, just like these pieces .

These are so awesome.  I love them.  I make simple bracelets.  I wish I knew how you did these, I would love to try and make one.  At least one. Wink

Much thanks for all the craftster love  Grin

I can't really tell you how I did it exactly - as it is someone else's work.  I got the kit from these folks:  http://www.bitsnpieces.net/templates/buttons%27nbeads.htm
I bought the Christmas kit - the poly clay charms are really cute.  But then when I made these for my mom I just used those button kits in the craft stores that come in themes along with whatever random charms I happened to have around.

I can probably share that anyone looking at the bracelets close up could tell that each one is a simple string of beads then rows of fringe and loops are added.  That stuff is mostly seed beads.

Once I figured it out it was really easy to make variations.
