oh, it's fantastic!  The wheat make me squeek - love it!  I've got all sorts of little gaffers running around my house who would definitely be into your playmat.  I think I'd better take your inspiration and make one too when I get a chance.  Thanks for sharing!

Cool project! I might just have to borrow the idea to make something for my nephew for Christmas.

Where did all this fabric come from? I CAN'T have bought THAT much!

Love it! I think I'm going to have to make one of these for my godson. He'll be 2 in February so maybe for a birthday gift...

So, Interested to know, did he love the present??

Looking at the pictures again, I think it'd be a lovely present! Did you draw on the stripes that made up the road?

Can't wait to make one myself!

He did love it! My sister set it out in an adjacent room for him on Xmas Day and we didn't hear a peep for a good 15 minutes! He was too busy driving his toy cars around the roads Wink

My sister thought it was amazing too and was impressed with the little details, as I knew she would be - I kind of put them on for her and not him.

She thought the catchpatch idea was pretty cool too, although I think catchpatches are well known in the US no-one over here in the UK has ever heard of one...

The stripes that make up the road are made of little strips of sticky-back plastic, painstakingly applied by hand Smiley
