I did this commission a couple weeks ago. I'm pretty proud of it. I took maybe 2 days. The person that commissioned me is going to give it as a Christmas present (don't worry, the recipient doesn't use the internet much from what I understand).

It's 12"x16" on Velour Paper.

Comments always welcomed

Thanks for looking!

Thank you misAsphyx!

acidtrix, I for dry mediums I work in pastel, colored pencil, charcoal, and pencil. For painting I usually work in oils and acrylics. With the dry mediums, I try not to favor one over the other but I really like working in pastels. They're just a torture to ship and hope that whomever commissioned it is going frame it correctly. The soft look is from the velour paper, it gives a nice soft look to the pastels. If I want to get tight detail in a very small space, I usually work in colored pencils.

Thank you so much littlebiskit, ineee, Bobomom, and Weeny !

ineee, I have a CKCS too! She's a 6 month old Tri Color named Stella! I truly love the breed! They're so smart, loving, and loyal. She's my dream dog, which is good considering I've been waiting 16 years to get a dog (since I was 13)!

Weeny, the owner is really happy! He initially commissioned 2 drawings. I made a mistake and started drawing the wrong dog (which was this portrait). He was so thrilled with my work that he didn't care and ordered 2 more portraits. I tried to give him a discount, because I was mortified that I made a mistake, but he wouldn't hear of it. I worked overtime to make it work and thankfully everything arrived in perfect condition. Thankfully I work pretty quickly.

in the little mini picture on the main page, I thought it was a photograph of a real dog!  I thought some one was showing their photography skills.

I bet my aunt and uncle would love one of these of their little Chihuahua...

Thank you so much AsphaltQueen, UnRuli, ld, Jemmyfuzzle, Krafty_Karasu, ThirdMargaret, Pretty. Odd, sawainah58, shaints, Megzy818, thisbirdsabsurd, and chocolatebutton!

I guess I'm getting the hang of pastels after all! Every now and then I try to step back from the piece and see where I'm at. It's good to know that my judgement is on track.

If anyone has questions, I would be happy to answer them. I'm very grateful for such wonderful feedback and it has more than made my day.  Kiss

Really gorgeous !!!!!!!!!! I think he/she will be very happy !!!!!!

I love working with pastels, but since I don't have many different colours all my things turn out: oker, red, black, white, yellow and green XD
After seeing this I want to buy more colours and make lot's of paintings (how do you call that when your not using paint?!)
