For a gift swap I'm involved in with an outside group I drew my giftee's horse using Prismacolor pencils.  Took me only about 2 hours to complete (5"x7" on an 8"x10" board).  For a while I didn't think I'd finish it and I nearly threw it away a few times thinking that I'd screwed it up.  I'm glad I stuck it out however.

I always like people to make gifts for me so I try to do the same for them.  I don't care if they're not crafty people.....I just LOVE homemade things!

Your drawing is beautiful and really well done!

I've heard horses are one of the most difficult things to draw because of their muscle tone and body structure.

That's really beautiful!  I know what you mean about homemade things, there's something much more precious about receiving something that somebody put a lot of time and effort into.

That's beautiful.
I'm curious, how did you make it be like... her horse, and not generic horse? Did you work from a picture?  My skill is nowhere near as good as yours, but still, it always gets on my nerves trying to draw particular person or thing not from a picture--I can't give it recognizable traits! Animals worst of all.

I like penguins, stars, rainbows and blue.
If your project has any of these, don't be surprised to see me post in it! Cheesy

I had several photos to work from, but the image doesn't directly match any particular one.  I'm pretty familiar with horses so it's easier for me to come up with a pose from a variety of photos for a horse than people or most other animals (although sometimes I can do that with dogs).  It's just a matter of making sure you match the basic shapes of the animal's features.
