Thank you everyone...

krishnam, if you need any pointers just ask...

I measured the footprint of the machine and then added inches over to the right.
Remember to not leave any access on the left of the machine because whatever you are sewing may catch on it. You only need enough in the back to reach the very edge of the machine but it won't be in the way if there's a little.
Sit at your machine with a measuring tape and measure to determine the drop in the front so it doesn't bug your knees.
Determine the tools that you actually use at your machine then make the pockets accordingly.

Please let me know if you want any help..
Rock On

You are very welcome.

I learned so much here I can't even tell you. I feel like I'm giving back when I get a thank you like yours.

The possibilities for these are simply endless. If you have a friend who sews be sure to make her (or him) one. I will be making one for my sister in Fla, my friend in Colorado and my other friend in San Diego. I will be personalizing each to their personalities re:colors, fabrics and decoration. San Diego is very 'liberal' anti war activist, earthy, etc... Colorado is a wicken and my sis is a hippie who loves pink, lime green and yin yan things. It's going to be a blast to design each one. ha ha  Cheesy

Please post a pic. I'd love to see the end result.

One thing I did after I posted the pic. I made a little sheath and sewed it right where I keep a small pair of scissors handy. I tied a little ribbon to the handle of the scissors and attached the other end in a convenient place on the thing. The scissors slip into the sheath and remain handy always.

Rock On

This is great!  So practical and useful!  Especially the thread catcher - my thread catcher is unofficially my floor!  Then my socks!  Smiley
