I got the idea for embroidering on artist's canvas when I saw the 50's girl BrookOwens stitched -- http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=273740.msg3092684#msg3092684.

I *loved* stitching on the artist's canvas!! And I'm super happy with how this project turned out. More embroidering on artist's canvas is definitely in this girl's future Wink.

What an incredible job! This is gorgeous; the embellishments you chose are perfect - they enhance the stitching without overwhelming the project.

I've also been tempted to try stitching on canvas since I saw the 50s girl - may have to give this a try!

That is incredibly beautiful, Glenda. I love how you managed to cover the transfer spot that made you unhappy with that button. It's perfect placement.

The first embroidery work I ever saw on canvas was probably a beautiful piece done by merwing, but that was on a smaller scale. This just rocks.

Thanks, y'all =)

Don't know if you can tell from the photos, but the red berries are little red beads. I've never stitched with beads before and felt sure I was going to snap that fragile beading needle right in half LOL.

85% -- I have a hard time leaving white space LOL, so it was a fine line for me to walk when choosing the embellishments. Thank you for the compliment about them. Definitely give stitching on canvas a try!! I actually prefer stitching on it more than on fabric there are some limitations (I didnt feel comfortable using certain stitches), but on the other hand there are things that work better on canvas than fabric (the brads, for example the brads dont weigh the canvas down like they would fabric).

Jennifer Yeah, those tiny brads came in handy by allowing me to use one to cover the transfer smudge that my eyes kept getting drawn to!! Thank you for saying it rocks I am tickled pink with how it turned out.
