This is my first Fiber Friday; I'm so crazy-excited!

Hand-dyed merino from Clover Leaf Farms (www.cloverleaffarms .com). "Painted Desert" colorway.

My apologies for the webcam-esque pic. I took it with my webcam.

Oh my GOSH, you guys! Do you have any idea how long i've been away from crafting?! I FINALLY have some yarn to post!

I call this yarn spring summer fall winter, otherwise known as St. Bernard, because thats honestly how long it took me to spin it - thats how little time I've had to craft! I have 250 yards plied, with at least 100 more to go, though I already started a scarf with it.

Just a little under worsted weight, I'd say, triple ply. Random wool from sheep shed with mohair throughout

kathleenalice - your thread-plied rainbow yarn is hot!
caedara - embers is the perfect name for that yarn. I love how rugged/beautiful it is.
I think any man would love something knitted out of that. I know mine would  Smiley
noodle princess - I love the how subtle Cloudberry is. It totally makes me think icecream.
CoraBeanQueen - love your yarn. Love!
I can see it being made into a luscious squishy hat.

Errrm, it's been about 12 million years since I posted anything here (because I haven't really been spinning at all the past few months), but this evening I spun up some of my roving balls and got a bunch of older handspun off the bobbins and skeined up.  Of course, cuz I'm a freak, I didn't feel like taking normal pictures of my yarn tonight, so I put my Lensbaby macro lens on the camera and took some macro shots of it.  Apologies in advance if any of the pics make you dizzy.  Smiley

This is the one I spun tonight.  It's called Mai Tai and was combed together from wool, alpaca, ramie, nylon sparkle, soy silk, and mohair.  Super low twist single.

This is from a yarn I spun up from a crazy batt with a bunch of weirdness in it.

And here's some close up shots of a different skein, that I spun together from samples of a bunch o' roving balls:

And, finally, yesterday I knit a hat from a handspun yarn made from a crazy batt.  I don't have a picture of the entire hat, but here's the top:

Camera special effects:  I has them.  Smiley

Also, kathleenalice, I adore the way your yarn looks all fat and snuggly in their wrappers!  And the rainbow yarn is sheer happiness.  Smiley

My first significant handspun!  Spun on a drop spindle using a batt from Wooly Treasures on Etsy.  The batt was named Icy Rain and it's angelina, bamboo, silk, BFL, merino and superwash merino.  It was SO fun to spin!  I love it!  Not sure of yardage tho  Undecided  It is overspun in some places but I think that just adds character!

Yep!  I scored some bags of shredded money at an antique store last month.  I had wanted to try spinning with money since I saw it in the Pluckyfluff book.  The only thing that sucks is that the money is crunchy, like brand new bills, instead of soft and floppy like old bills.  Maybe it'll soften a little bit after I block it.
