I made some shiny happy sugar cookies for a friend's store's holiday open house. I love how they turned out - just as I planned, although the swirls on the snowflakes were a lot more difficult than I thought they would be.

Oh, and they tasted great, too. Smiley

Thanks, everyone!

Hockamama, the icing is so simple. I love it. Plus it has that glossy effect which is great. Combine four teaspoons milk with one cup powdered sugar, stirring until combined (will be thick). Add one tablespoon corn syrup. Add one tablespoon vanilla (or whatever flavor your prefer - you can do almond, lemon, peppermint, etc.). If you want white icing, either use clear extract or set aside a portion of the icing before you add the extract, as it tints the icing which doesn't matter if you're making colors but will make the white less bright.

those are gorgeous! what kind of frosting/icing did you use?  I need to make some cookies, and I'm having trouble settling on icing.  I like the way yours turned out.
