heya!  there's a crap ton of crafty stuff in town.

a small almost handful of us meet up roughly every other week ... we've got a thread here: http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=217893.230

diyalert is a good place to start - Diane Gilliland, who may or may not have just had her name horribly misspelled, keeps Portlanders updated with crafty goings on.

Somewhere on this board is a "crafty stores in portland" thread.

welcome to portland.  are you part of the ranks of the car-free?  the trimet (bus/max train) system here is pretty damned good.

Yeah, what she said Smiley.

Welcome! Have you checked out scrap yet? It's really cool too! The store/supplies/DIY stuff  thread is stickied at the top of the board as well as the meet ups.

Scrap is a store that takes a ton of donations from every place you can think of. It's really amazing and so much fun to go through. They have a "robot" and sculpture competition every year.
