Awwwwww, thank you for going to all that trouble!  That's super sweet of you.  I didn't see it until today (Friday-after), but I will tell you that I (almost) followed your original pattern, but with a double layer of fabric, sewn together, turned inside, etc.  I'm normally someone who thoroughly reads pretty much all directions before even starting a project, but this time I didn't and so the fold-over brim kind was kind of wonky on mine and well, since I didn't actually measure or anything - well, it was all a bit wonky.  However, it certainly did the trick and "made the outfit" according to some so THANKS again for the tut and  all your support.  When I get pics I might post them in the Thanksgiving forum.  If so, I'll put a link here and in it, because lady, you deserve some credit for sure.

Hope your holiday was fun and yummy!

Hi TheMistressT, So glad the idea sparked for you and you were able to complete the Pilgrim Lady as Cheerleader ensemble.

There are times when measuring and precision are critical and times when just getting the essence across will do.

I actually did not do the project with a group of kids, prepared it for a Young mom and her 5 year old who come over for "craft and sewing days" to take to their family feast several hundred miles away.

We did have a nice day, thank you so much for asking.  And yes it would be an awesome treat to get a link and see your outfit.  So glad you had a good time.  It has been a real pleasure meeting you over this project.

I couldn't agree more and when it comes to costumes that's often the case for me.  The hat, apron and goofy aluminum foil boot buckles made it so everyone knew exactly what I was going for... or at least they thought they did until the sporting events started and I brought out my pom-poms!

So glad you had a nice holiday and I, too, have enjoyed our new acquaintance and hope to see more of your crafts here!
