This coat is gorgeous!  You did a wonderful job!!  I'd love to make my daughter a coat like this....don't know if I have the patience (or the talent!).  Good job!!

It's not as hard as it looks, honest.  Buttonholes were the hardest thing about it.  And, as always, lining non-stretch with stretch...  If you lined it with flannel or non-stretch faux fur it wouldn't be that hard.

This is so adorable... Whatever do you do with these masterful works of art when your child no longer fits into them? Keep them for the next kids, give them to friends, take them to shelters... Post them somewear for people to buy ?

Haha, I cram her in them anyway!  I've not been sewing that long so I don't have very much that she's grown out of, just some onesie / trouser sets and smaller dresses.  And the stuff I make now tends to be big so it'll fit for awhile.

Peter pan collars are surprisingly easy, I was scared for awhile but they are one of the easiest necklines around.  The only hard bit is drafting it the right size.  They're especially quick when you are attaching it to something lined as there's no bias tape or facings involved.

Sorry, meant to say the fabric is from Ikea.  I got five or so different fabrics for coats...  they're really nice and sturdy, and not very expensive either!

I shouldn't be telling you this but I feel safe on the other side of the ocean... it's a bit big for dd, fits 3yr old ds like a glove!
