Um.. what happened to the bettas? They're tropical fish and cannot live in bowls despite the popular notion. They need 3-5 gallon tanks with filters and heaters. I hope they went to caring homes.. they have very individual personalities that shine best when well cared for. Just FYI.

I am so glad you asked! So many details, I almost forgot! At the end of the reception I donated the fish to a local children's hospital that has fish tanks. Smiley

Where was your wedding/reception (I read "Gleissner House" in the pic I think?) and how was the place?  It looks cool and I'm intrigued!

Yes, our wedding/reception was at the Glessner House at 18th and Prairie! It was phenomenal. It was one of the cheapest venues we found, was absolutely stunning, the location was great and how many people can say that they got married in a fortress. Oh and best of all it wasn't a banquet hall! The space we used was the coachhouse and courtyard, most of the events they had previously were either small or very traditional, which wasn't us, but we knew for certain we wanted a "Chicago" venue. Fun fact: When the house was erected the neighbors were furious and literally sat down with the mayor to say, "what did we do to deserve this." They viewed the house is uber-ugly. The people who ran the place were cool, but not punk rock at all. The director eventually lightened up towards the end of our wedding(I think it helped that we got him drunk...haha). Are you getting married? if so congrafts, and let me know if you need any help. Smiley

Well... eventually. Cheesy  We don't do churches or anything either and if we get married in Chicago (which I'd like) I'll definitely look into that place!
