It looks like it was a fabulous day. I agree, you have to do your wedding your way to make it a really wonderful memory. We had pressure from both sides to do different things but did it the way we wanted and I still remember it as one of the most special days of my life - almost fourteen years later. (You should have seen some of the looks I got when I was giving piggybacks in my wedding dress.)

My husband and I married 10 years ago and did most everything ourselves (or with the help of family).  My dress was bought too, but only because my mom begged me not to ask her to make it.  She said that would be too much pressure.  But I did want her too (and for my grandma's to help out).

There was so much satisfaction at seeing our hard work come out so beautifully on the big day.  Your memories of your wedding will be all the better for having had a hand in everything.

It is so rewarding!  I had so much fun making everything and arranging all of the festivities. Congrats on your wedding too! The funny thing is I promised myself I wouldn't mak a wedding dress, and I still ended up making one. I didn't uise it in our wedding, but for Halloween we had a headless bride and groom themed decor and party.
