That is so pretty. I think it was totally work all the hard work and effort you put into the skirt. I love how the colors look together and I think it's always fun to have a skirt that you can twirl.

I love swirly-twirly skirts in general, but the one you made is really in a league of its own and must be spectacular when you give it a spin.  Very pretty, and now I am inspired to go through the fabric scraps I've been saving for years to see about starting one of my own.

FABULOUS!!! It's just beautiful. Reminds me of a rainbow. You look just as beautiful wearing it. I guess you can pretty much match any t-shirt,blouse to go with it.  Hey, I like that cute beret also. Sooo, where do you plan to wear this and show it off? You most likely won't be sewing up another any time soon,huh?  You did a wonderful job. JOB? I think you deserve to be paid for this one. LOL.

I will be wearing it during summer music fests.......spinnin g away!!

All I can say is that you my friend are a crazy woman!!!  LOL.

I sew and design clothing for girls and I make a LOT of twirl skirts.  Check my posts.  We're speaking toddlers mostly and those small skirts take a lot of time even with me doing 8-10 inch rectangles! (I absolutely REFUSE to do them much smaller).  Mine are usually 3 tiers with each level being DOUBLE of the previous one for maximum twirl. My bottom ruffle on the last skirt was 6 yds and I was complaining!  When I saw your bottom row was 55 I almost fell out of my chair!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

How the hell did you manage to pin each level???  you must have used a thousand pins!

I don't use pins...just sew....the serger helps a lot. I didn't mean for the skirt to be so very long - it was a pain to do and I had to force myself to finish - but boy is it beautiful!!!! no regrets....

I know just how you felt making this too - I did one in 2 layers of net a couple of years back (http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=112167.msg1071581#msg1071581)

It took me two weeks with two bottom layers 24 metres EACH.  But I only had 5 layers, and they were strips, not teeny tiny squares! 

All the time and effort that goes into them, you really can see why they're so expensive when they're in the shops. 

You've done an amazing job!  Kudos to you!
