Hey all ---

I have spent the last 5 weeks working on this rainbow skirt. It started as a pleasure and ended up being such a chore. I totally love the end produce, so so beautiful!!! Though it is heavy.

The skirt is made up of 5 inch squares put together in strips. There are 9 tiers. The tiers or strips are yellow, orange, pink, red, light green, dark green, light blue, dark blue, purple. The purple was shorten to make the hem and to keep the skirt at 39 inches in length.

For each row/tier I increased the length by 1/2 of the one above. By the time I got to the bottom tier I was using 420 squares - though I had to add 23 more squares as I gathered too much on the last row. Making the last tier 1993.5 inches long (giving 1/4 inch seam allowance for each side of squares) - that means 166 feet of spin, or 55 yards of spin. This is some skirt....

below are some photos.....as always comments are welcome

Wow. Just incredible!

What a great sense of color you have too. I have none, so I'm always amazed at those who do!

Oh my goodness, this is so remarkably awesome! I have always loved very full skirts that tend to gather and twirl, but this is better than any I have ever seen! I am jealous Wink You did a beautiful job!
