He is gorgeous. Kiss We live in Australia and my son has a pet Axolotl. Your stuffy is fantastic and both my kids love it. Cheesy I will keep a look out for a pattern - my son really wants one now.

Wow, having a pet Axolotl - how lucky. Smiley Anyway, I will try to draft up the basic pattern and post it today or tomorrow.  Spreading the Axolotl love is a good thing.

I like it.  I must admit that real axolotls freak me out a bit - but this one is a little less nippy and a lot more cuddly.  =) - nicely designed - well done.

This reminds me of a short story I read years ago! When I read it, I didn't think Axolotls were real, haha. http://www.cis.vt.edu/modernworld/d/axolotl.html
I believe this is the whole story (in English). It was originally written in Spanish by the Argentinean writer Julio Cortazar. If you're curious, I believe the English title of the book it's in is called End Game or something similar Smiley

Very interesting little critter. Never heard of it before. Sometimes we humans are lousy stewards of our precious planet.
Your big guy is a cutie.

AHHH AN AXOLOTL!  I saw it on the home page and started sqee-ing immediately. So cute and cuddly! I love salamanders. I think they are all pretty much critically endangered at this point, the poor squishy, sensitive things. Ten years ago I helped dig salamander "holes" for lack of a better word, basically made a habitat for them, in Oregon. You know, I never have checked back to see how that particular species is doing. Part of me doesn't want to look it up though, for fear of the worst...  Undecided

Gee, that was a bit of a downer, sorry. Your axolotl will be around forever though, and that is a good thing since it is pretty much the most adorable thing I've seen on Craftster.

Oh cute!!! I recognized the critter only because of Craftster. In February, magic otter posted this crochet pattern for an axolotl and I've loved them ever since! Thanks for sharing the plushy version.

That is ADORABLE!!! Holy cow!!! I wish I could knit like that (or rather, knit at all). I also saw another good one here:

I wonder if she's on Craftster. Both of their Axolotls are really, really awesome. <3 <3

That's so funny - I bookmarked it recently (haven't read it yet). Somebody posted it on a livejournal community (WTF_Nature) in this post:

There is lots of Axolotl-loving in that thread. <3 And some nice pictures, too.

I love the little smile you've given him, it's so cute!  Kiss

It's great that he's huggable by grown-ups, sometimes we all need something to hug Smiley

My bro wants me to make him one now... and he's twenty! Wink Lol
