I was uncertain as to which board to post this to, but I figured that those of you looking for gift ideas might benefit from this more than the home decor board.

I made these easy silhouettes of all the grandkids for my parents and my inlaws. I have a tutorial posted on my blog:
http://petitdebutant.blogspot.com/2008/11/easy-gift-profile-silhouette.html

The cost was basically the frames which I found at the dollar store! Hooray for the dollar store. So I have made 6 of these so far and have another 7 to go.

Those are just darling!  I always want to get them done at Disneyland or the fair, but I never seem to do it.  I'll definitely use your tutorial for my dumpling of a 2 year old.  Cute!

(And I just did it on the computer, although I think when I go to print I'll cut it out so it's less pixely.  Fun!!)

Thank you all for your nice comments. I know how hard it can be to find stuff for grandparents (and greats) that already have everything!

Thank you so much for sharing this as soon I saw it I knew this was going to be one of my mom's christmas gifts so I did one of my DD. The intructions were easy to understand and it only took me 45 minutes start to finish.
I even discovered I had the same frame as you. Smiley

These look wonderful! For folks with 1 or 2 kids, it would be fun to one each year and have a series of maturing silhouettes!
