Do you guys ever make something, or come up with a great idea for a gift to craft, and then anywhere from 20 minutes to 2 days later decide that that is the worst idea you've ever had?
Or is it just me?

Yep, definitely! Sometimes I will think up something awesome, and then later realize either a) it is the worst idea ever, b) somebody else already came up with it, or c)it is impossible to do.

I always have these supposedly brilliant ideas, and then anywhere from a few weeks to a year later, I am all *facepalm*. I either pretend it didn't happen or just go along with the jest and make fun of myself. This has been esp. true for me since I just started getting back into the crafting after many, many years, and stuff I have made for people that I thought was awesome at the time is now kinda cringeworthy.  Grin

Actually I did it just now! I have a friend who is, like me, into BDSM. She also really likes bugs. I found some little metal handcuffs aaaaages ago, and in a bead shop just before Christmas came across some cute little charms of various bugs made of polyclay. Earlier today I realised that the two sets of handcuffs joined together made a bracelet-sized thing, and I thought 'I know! I'll put the bug charms on the metal links of the handcuffs, and make her a charm bracelet! It'll combine two of her favourite things! She'll love it!' So I start putting it together and I'm like...lame, dude. This is *lame*. And took them off again.

It looked cool in my head, damn it!

I think EVERY crafter has issues with this. Even some of the best out there has ripped up one or more projects that they really thought sucked wind!! It still amazes me how ideas that are perfect in your head- just drift away as soon as you try to figure out how to realize them!
