Spoon Pendants

So I got a spoon ring at our local flea market and have absolutely been in love with it. My husband has had to hunt down several more for people who have seen mine and wanted their own. So he decided he would try to make his own from this bag of awesome old silverware that we scored at (again) a flea market. Well, he didn't have any of the tools you're supposed to have to make rings, but instead he made these lovely pendants. They're not super fancy, but I love how they just stand on their own, ya know?!

Ohhhh!  I love that idea.  Ive got so many spoons that were my Grandmas.  Id love to make pendants from one of them.  Id hate to mess up on it and ruin such a sentimental item though, as they were ones she collected.

Ooh, I like the idea of souvenir spoons! *Is making another trip for more silverware soon* I saw the awesome resin jewelry people have been making with the spoon bowls, and I went and bonked the DH for not keeping them. That's what I'd like to try next.

We didn't have any "messed up pieces" but that's not to say it couldn't happen. And then that would be really bad. But you could always practice on junky silverware, and then use your grandmother's spoons. That would be a great way to use them.

Some of those look like they could be sterling silver. Probably not.
I can't believe he threw away the spoon bowls...

Oh what a clever idea! I have this one spoon I've had and saved since my childhood because I love the design on the handle maybe I'll have to try this

I absolutely love these, especially the one you are wearing at the bottom. I think I have some silverware in that pattern. I love silverware... how come I can only find a reason to use it at Thanksgiving and Christmas?

Thanks everybody for all the nice comments! And yes.. he threw the bowls away.  Oh well.

I don't think any of these are sterling, he usually scoops those up and sells them just as spoons/silverware. I think they are plated, though.

Lady Llanalla - the one I'm wearing has the cutest acorns on the front and the back. I'm so jealous if you have a bunch of this pattern
