should this go in the 'paper' forum, or the 'art' forum?
i made a partial face, and a full face.

i made these masks out of magazines, wire mesh, mod podge,
(and also, newspaper,a paintbrush, plastic bag, and blank plastic masks.)

i stared with the BLANK MASK, and wrapped a PLASTIC BAG over it, do i could save the original, for other uses.
i wrapped the plastic with WIRE MESH.

then I papiermached the front and sides with NEWSPAPER for stability.

after that dried, i ripped out faces from MAGAZINE AD'S, i cut out eyes, noses, mouths, lashes, eyebrows, and all the skin colors.
i papiermached the face parts all over the mask.

when it was dry i removed the original mask, and cut the top off the new mask.

It seems that different people have an idea of what I am, and what I should be. And then there's me.

Oh those are creepy and fun at the same time.  Can I ask what the wire mesh is for?  Kindof like a mold from the original mask? I am just thinking that if it's in the order or plastic bag, wire, paper mache, the wire is removable right?  Sorry I am confused, I wouldn't want it up against my face  Cheesy

That's terrifying, it's so unsettling...but I love it.  I just want to stare at it.

Nice work!

the wire mesh is still in the mask.
its for support, just the paper by itself is too thin and flimsy, the platic is so the glue wouldnt go through the wire mesh and stick to the original, and so the mesh isnt against your face

Super cool.  I think I might be able to do something like that with my students.  I run a self confidence workshop and we talk about how artificially the media uses women.  Might be something we could try if you don't mind?

This is both incredibly creepy and incredibly cool. I both love it and am freaked out by it.
