As a new member of Ravelry, I've been crawling all over the community looking for new patterns.  Here are two that I adore, made up using James C. Brett's Marble yarn for a friend's baby's Christmas gift:

The Ribbed Baby Cardigan:








and the Aviatrix Hat
 (knit on two straight needles!!)

These are sooooo adorable. I am sure that your friend will enjoy them. My daughter is now wearing the sweaters and things that my grandmother knitted for my sister (26) and I (30) when we were teeny wee. If your friend takes good care of them who knows how long they will last?

That's so cool Lady Llanalla!  I hope my friend can pass these things along as well.  That's what every knitter hopes, right?  Thanks for the compliments also!  I loved this pattern so much that I had to make one for my daughter; I changed the pattern a bit to accommodate a bulkier yarn, Sensations Dolcetto in pale green, and while the sweater is very soft and squishy it's rather loose and was difficult to make up.  I do like how it turned out though, even if the edges are a bit wobbly:

  I just got on the waiting list to have a gander at the Ravelry site!  My ex husband's 2 nieces are having babies in February and this looks easy and so sweet to knit!  I just have to make them in neutral colours for when the wee beans arrive!   Tongue
  You both did a great job and I am LOVING THE HAT! That is so freakin cute!  I dont know how to knit in the round so I was happy to see the comment about the 2 needles!
