i'm sure a lot of you are familiar with this pattern: http://www.headhuggers.org/patterns/kpatt07.htm

here's my version. all's i did was add the neat embroidered chain stitches.

i wish it was a little more snug. next time i'll use size 7 needles instead of the recommended 8.

Thanks for the link to the pattern - I hadn't seen this hat before.  I love your modern interpretation - what fun!  The pattern reminds me of an old bathing cap from the 60's!

That hat is adorable!!!  Although I'm a little upset that there is now another item on my very long list of "projects to knit".  Seriously, I'm going to have to knit for years and years to just finish what I've written down so far.

How was this hat to knit?

it's not hard at all, just extremely tedious the first time around. i suggest using stitch markers!
this is the second time i've made it & it was a breeze.
