Thanks, L2E! Smiley  When I held it up to the pin cushion and asked myself how that looked I said, "Not baaa-aaaad!"  *groan*

Bad puns aside, that was an awesome lot of pincushions that you crafted for your swap partner!

OMG. I received my pincushion from mlheran yesterday and it. is. gorgeous.

There was squealing going on as I was opening it, and my husband just didn't get it. Of course, I didn't take a picture of the part that made me squeal the most - some brown baby rick rack.!!!

Close-up on the detail work - so amazing and beautiful!

After taking pictures, I quickly put it to use for my non-magnetic pins (I requested a pincushion for them, since I love them but they don't stick to the magnet like my other ones).

Thank you so much! I absolutely adore it!

That pin cushion atop a jar is beautiful.  Lovely embroidery.  And the jar contents is so colorful.
Some pins are made of aluminum and you cannot pick them up with a magnet.  I have all sorts of pins.  I have 2 boxes of steel pins I inherited from my mother.  Then I have all sorts of pins I collect from various places.  I'm one of those people who don't believe in throwing stuff out because you "might need it someday".  When I used to buy shirts or pj's, etc., I saved all the pins holding them together.  I have more pins than I know what to to do with. However, I see some fancy pins that some people have and I think they are so pretty.

OMG!  What a great idea!  I love the pincushion/storage jar combo.  I may have to make one for myself.   Grin

As promised here are some pictures of the lovely pincushion from Loves2experiment.

Did I mention that it is perfect.  Grin  I like that it has a nice flat bottom so when you stick pins in it, it can't get away (hmmm that sounds kind of cruel).  But what I mean is, I have a round little tomato and when I try to stick pins in it while sewing at lightning speeds it trys to roll away.  Not good.  This one won't  Smiley

Plus it has two sides here is the B side.

The first picture is truer to the real colors.

Thank you Loves2experiment!!

Redcleo, you are so lucky! That's a beautiful pin cushion.  It made me squee a bit, too.  All the beautiful buttons, doo-dads and flosses -- yummm!!  mlheran, you're crafting skills are to be commended.  Lovely embroider and presentation.  Smiley

Everyone is making such beautiful takes on such a utilitarian little object.  Y'all rock!

[E.D. posted as I was proofreading.]

Love, love, love the pin cushion from Loves2Experiment!!  Beautiful retro print fabric - takes me back to the 70s!  So pretty!!  And, E.D., you made me laugh with the comment after "it can't get away when you stick pins in it."  Cheesy
