I made a birdseed skull, using a plaster mould I had made previously.
I have been asked why?
I say because I could, the true answer only other craftsters can appreciate......... ....because the idea came to me in a flash, and would not let me rest until I had.
enough of the chatter, onto the pics.

coming out of the mould

its very crumbly, Im not sure how long it will last, but I am watering its head hoping for a grassy mohawk.
It currently resides on my kitchen window sill.
Comments welcomed.
regards
S

For a second I thought the bird seed looked like maggots... creepy, but super ace at the same time!

Maggots eww gross, but I can see what you mean.

I originally thought of using bits of twigs, but thought it would just look like a mulch or potting mix head............... but hey maybe thats not such a terrible idea.hmmm

I love it. I thought you were going to put out for the birds and then you would have he lovely image of birds devouring a human skull.

Agreed. When I saw the thumbnail on the front page I was thinking it was a skull covered in maggots as well so I waited until after I ate lunch to look at it. Thank god it's birdseed and not nasty little bugs.

I like it. Make sure you post more pictures if you do eventually get a grass mohawk.
