I don't know what it is, but I'm obsessed with lumberjacks. Anything in plaid or flannel, I have to have it and make it girly and cute. I recently found some 100% wool plaid that could not have been designed for anyone but Paul Bunyan. So I designed some hat patterns and made these! I lined them with sherpa (the same fabric on the inside earflaps) so they're warm and toasty, perfect for winter weather. I love them so much, I've been wearing them everywhere since it's been snowing here! I have some yellow and red plaid also and I'm working on a few new designs so they all look different.

i've been OBSESSED with lumberjacks too!!!  just this past year, though..  i move in phases, first i was crazy for paisley, then plaid, then houndstooth, then leopard print, and now buffalo plaid.

those hats are ADORABLE.  i particularly love the blue one, i must say.

There's a wool factory about 2 hours from where I live in Minnesota and I'd heard that they sell you wool for $25 per yard from their textiles. I stopped by there one day when I was in town and they told me I could go through their scraps bin and pay $.50 per pound for whatever I found. Some scraps were unusable but there were tons of areas that were big enough for me to cut several pieces from! I also found 12 1 yard cuts of random things in there. I estimate I walked out with $500 worth of wool and only paid $10. The factory is my new favorite place on earth!

Thanks for all the compliments! I've had a lot of people asking about them and even had a woman approach me making some for her consignment store.

Hi, Love your hats! I come from a family of lumberjacks; they love those hats. I live in Minn. too; is the wool place you refer to in Bemidji?
