ok, so the shower hasn't officiall happened yet..it's a week from tomorrow, but we are now done with every crafty thing that needed to be done!  I'm so excited!  So without further ado, here are the pics!

Diaper Cake my mom made for me! It has about 345 diapers in it!

These are our favors they are supposed to look like baby booties and are made from an 8 oz. styrofoam cup. A tut can be found here: http://www.creative-baby-shower-ideas.com/baby-bootie-cups.html

We made NINETY ONE of these things!

This is one of the game books we made.  Instead of passing out a bunch of pieces of paper, we put them into a book.  This is the cover.

one of the pages inside the book.  This is the baby bingo game.

and the last page has a thank you poem that's supposed to be from baby.

and this isn't too crafty, but still we rolled 100 rolls of silverware!

I hope you like everything! Comments appreciated!!

Your diaper cake is pretty!  This may be a silly question - do moms really use all those diapers?  I was thinking of doing one for my friends shower in a few weeks but I don't want to "waste" my money if they aren't acutally used.  Do you know what I mean?

I love that you have care bears on top!  Are they expecting twins?  And 100 utensil rolls! WOW!! Smiley

Well, I'm a first time mom so I'm not sure if I'll use all of them or not, but my mom has had four girls and she seems to think so.  And I'm not having twins (thank goodness lol!) I barely know how I'm gonna handle one! I'll tell my mom you like the cake, she'll be excited Wink

And you don't necessarily have to use that many diapers.  you could just make a small cake from one package.  My mom just likes to go over the top  Tongue

That might be the biggest diaper cake I have ever seen!  Awesome!

My suggestion for making a big diaper cake like that would be to not use all newborn diapers, because babies grow out of them really fast, some are never actually small enough to wear them (I want to say they only go up to like 8lbs, my kiddo was only in them for 2 weeks max).  So use the next size up (and maybe even a package of the next size after that... it's always nice to have some on hand in the next size, so you have them when you need them).

I have heard of people not wanting to take them apart though because they think they are so cute/pretty, but that's just foolish, they are free diapers, use them, diapers are not cheap!

Thanks for the congrats!

And my mom used size 1 diapers because she figures I'll get a lot of newborn since we are doing a diaper raffle at the shower.

Oh and I will definitely be taking this apart! lol

Very cute!

I agree, don't buy too many newborn diapers, not only could your little one be too big for them or grow too fast to use them up but in our case, broke out in a rash from the brand I had. Had to take them all back (not the dirty ones silly!) and find a different brand and different sizes.

What is a diaper raffle?

Love the 'booties' I must add, lots of work but well worth it!

Congratulations to you all.

Cealy- Thanks!  and a diaper raffle is where you tell your guests to bring a pack of diapers to the shower and they will be entered into a raffle to win something.  In this case, my aunt works at a salon so she is donating a manicure and pedicure plus putting together a  basket full of lotions and stuff!  We invited 135ppl so hopefully I'll get lots of diapers! (and if I get too many of one size, I can always take them back and exchange them!)

Wow!! Great work!
And yep... you really do go through a truckload of nappies (well, diapers to you!)
My son is now almost 8 months old and we've gone through soooo many nappies... its ridiculous!
Diaper raffle is a great idea!!!

When I make diaper cakes I always use a size 1 or 2.  Mostly 2's that way of the mother chooses to let it sit for a little bit she can without the diapers getting to small.   Everyone that I have made these for has used the diapers.

Thanks for sharing.
