I am considering an attempt at a really quick, epically inaccurate 1860s hoop skirt, but I need some help on what to use for boning. I am aware of the various sorts of steel boning etc., but I cannot obtain it in time. I need something cheap. I'm not too keen on the idea of a hula hoop, as it isn't flexible, though I've seen it done. I have also heard about PVC piping. Does anyone have another suggestion?
