Whoo Winnipeg!  Does anyone know any good consignment/thrift shops besides Rag Pickers?  Oh i like to make my own clothes and room wares from the treasures I find @ V.V Boutique(Value Village). Grin

I knit as well. I mostly knit and cross stitch. Where do you shop for supplies?

I can also sew a bit (enough to make not very complicated things) and I have stencilled furnature and stuff. When I think about it there is a lot of crafty stuff I have done in the past. I like to believe that if I want to do something enough I can learn it.

well i don't really have a lot of craft supply stores around me (i live in ft. garry).  when i can convince someone to drive me i love going to ram wools for my yarn, such a great place.  other than that i rely on lewiscraft for acrylic paint and what-not.  oh, and i live right next to a value village so there's always treasures to be found there.   Wink

what about you, any good craft places?

just thought i'd add, yesterday i went to the fabricland in st.vital.  i've never been there before as it's not really on a convenient bus route for me.  wow!  sooo much great stuff.  and a yearly membership for students is only $12, and you save a lot with it.

I go to Rams wools as well sometimes. I went to their semi-annual sale this year or whatever it is called and got a good stash going.

Another place I go to to get acrylics and 100% wool is Camille's Elegant Yarns on Narin. There is a large selection of Patons there as well as a bunch of other stuff. The Patons yarns (And i don't know about the other ones) are cheaper than lewiscraft, michael's, zellars, and wal-mart's regular prices. I live in North Kildonan so I was happy to find this place and actaully not have it across the city. There was one time where I was looking for something specific and she called another store called Lorna's to see if they had it and they did so I went there. It was on Logan but when I went there I didn't have much time to check out the prices of other things because I had to be somewhere. I will try to go back one day since it is so close to my mom's work.

I keep on meaning to look around at Value Village to stuff but whenever I am around there I always forget.

I've only been to Camille's once, I'm hardly ever around there.  I've heard of that Lorna's place on Logan, but once again, far away.  There's one on Corydon called the Good Wool Shop.  They had a lot of novelty yarns and what-not.  Not a lot of 100% wool that I could see though, and I'm a yarn snob.   Wink   However, they do have an ultra-cute kitty they keep in the store.
