Lovely mcook! I think I need some more of your yum soaps! What does pikake smell like? I love the shade of green you have for your sweetgrass! I used a grass smell for a swap a couple years ago and it was really popular.

How did you get the top of your MochaJava one to look like icing? My sister and I did some hazelnut coffee soap that is similar to your brewed coffee ones and that is a neat idea for the tops!

WOW those look amazing! I'm kind of a new poster. Most of the time I lurk around and look at all the great ideas here on craftster.

Are soaps like these difficult to make?

I just made my first set of balt salts yesterday, and my first set of melt and pour soap tonight! I am getting addicted Grin

I took some of the soap out of the pot and put it into a bowl before I added the fragrance and the cocoa powder(used as colorant).  Then after I fragranced and colored my soap in my main pot I poured that into the mold and then I just poured the plain whited soap on top.  You have to make sure the bottom layer of soap is thick or the top layer will just sink into the bottom.

CP soaps are not difficult to make you just have to respect the lye and use safety precautions.  There is a lot of information on the internet to help you learn.

Actually I think Pikake and Hawaiin White Ginger are two different flowers.  Pikake is a type of Jasmine.

You're right Mcook!

Hawaiian White Ginger is Zingibeaceae hedychium and Pikake is Oleaceae Jasminum.

I was going by the scent of a couple fragrance oils I had.  Hawaiian White Ginger was from MMS  and a Pikake FO I got in a trade had the exact same fragrance.

makes me go hmmmmm and wondering what each of them really smells like!

A lot of fragrance oils smell similar to other oils.  I think they make a big batch of fragrance oil and bottle it with different names to try to appeal to different customers.  I noticed that WSP's ginger spice and ginger bread smell exactly alike and I have noticed that a lot of the coffee blends smell identical.

Defiantly something I think I will try once my life calms down a bit and I have more time for crafting.
