While surfing on Tantes Zolder/MyAuntsAttic, I found these two designs and fell in love:

I'm still brainstorming what I'll make with the finished stitching.  I'd like to see other people's ideas too.

Those are so neat!

They would make great blocks for a quilt or pillow or.. well a lot of things. on a tan colored canvas bag would be cool too!

I think the butterflies would make an amazing piece to just cross stitch and frame. I think I might try it since butterflies would lend themselves to a piece where you really get to play with color. I immediately though of using veriegated floss.

The bats...maybe glow in the dark (white floss) on black...? Again, I just like playing with color

Thank you for sharing these are both very interesting projects!!!

Ackk, those bats are amazing.  I might just have to learn how to cross stitch, I've been comfortably stuck in the world of embroidery for the past few years.

As for the butterflies, the Holocaust Museum in Dallas has a request out for art submissions for handmade butterflies.  Any kind of medium and from any age group kids to adults.  Once they are all collected they will be put on display in remembrance of the children killed.  If you are interested you can find more info here on the MrXStitch page

I'm planning on stitching one up this weekend Smiley

Those are awesome charts!  I think they might be patterns to make a biscornu.  I found some directions if you want to make one...

Those patterns are so awesome, I had to make something right away.

So I made this last night. Sorry about the wrinkles, I haven't ironed it yet.

That's what I was thinking too. It would be a beautiful doily.  I also agree it would make a great piece to hang on the wall.  so many possibilities

They'd both be great to embellish a piece of clothing. The back pocket of your jeans or something? (Which works better if you have a cute tushie to show them off. Mine is not so perky. lol)  Roll Eyes Cheesy
