I just replaced the belt, she chewed it into about 10 pieces.  Now I am back on track.  Anyone else have this problem?

Beautiful yarn.

Try coating everything the cat does and shouldn't chew on in tabasco or similar super hot sauce.  I've found that my dog chews on stuff that I spray "bitter apple" chew deterrent on anyway, but tabasco keeps her away.

I store my drum carder with the belt off not because of my cats, although I'm sure they would find the belt delicious, but because I've had the belt stretch out and the carder not work as well.

I don't have that problem because I haven't had a cat for a few years but I can see a cat doing that lol

Cats don't like citrus. So if you don't want to try hot sauce you could find a citrus-smelling product and use that on the belt...do you oil the belt at all? You could find an appropriate oil for it that smells like citrus...  Or take the belt off when it's not in use, a bit inconvenient but better than it being chewed into pieces  Undecided

I've found that my cats love to play with anything related to spinning, fiber, and yarn.  I keep it all behind a closed door when I'm not there to supervise. Out of sight out of kitty minds Smiley
