HEY people... I just wanted to ask .. if any of you know of any sites that people sell their crafts on or how to get started on doing this? I have many things (mostly accesories) that people love and ask if i sell... but i dont know wat to do. any help would be great thanks

It's not that hard to set up a site where you can sell your stuff. You just need to learn some HTML and be able to figure out how to add a shopping cart. I use PayPal's shopping cart service because it's really easy to use but some people have had problems with PayPal. Here's some discussion on this:

If you don't want to set up your own site, there are some people who do "online consignment" of crafted goods. A couple I can think of are:

Anyone have any good ideas on how I can go about it or where I can put it?

Some questions...

Can you afford to pay for hosting or do you need a free site?

Do you have any html skills or are you in need of something that does most of the work for you?

Does your business have a bank account that can be used to get a credit card processing account or will you use a service like paypal or just check/m.o.?

Things to gather up:

Photos of your items
Descriptions
Pricing

Once you have all your 'content'-everything you want to put on the site- look around for other websites you like..this is the best way to figure out how YOUR site should look.

Make note of things you hate so you can avoid doing the same.

If your budget limits you to a free server space, there are tons of them to consider..like tripod.com. If you're looking to pay for your site, you can get a lot of really good hosting deals now...less than $10 a month from a bunch of places, some only $5 a month the first year and $3 a month after that.

I'd prefer to not pay for it, but I really want a shopping cart, and I don't know how to do that.  
I'm considering ebay's store, but otherwise, I'd prefer to not have to pay anything, cause I'm not going to make that much money on what I'm doing.

Once you have a site set up and some server space, you can use a free shopping cart like mals-e.com which is easy to use.  It can be set up to have people pay by PayPal, and other methods.

Hello All ! I've been building twig furniture as a hobby and last year started to sell it at craft fairs. Some folks who stop at my booth tell me I should try selling at a "craft mall".  No one knows exactly where this place exists, a search of the phone books was non-productive and "Google" brought me here. I do well on the circuit and want to take this full time. Any ideas?

Okay so when I was 14 I went to Texas to visit my friend who had moved there. Her mom was a quilter, and she took us to a 'Craft Mall' where she had to drop off a couple more quilts. It was a large wherehouse type building set up sort of like an antique mall, but with handmade crafts instead. It was so long ago I don't remember the name of the place, they do exist, well in Texas at least...I currently live in New England and I have yet to come across something like that place.
