I just completed my portfolio development at my school, however several pieces have yet to be completed. Usually I wouldn't be bothered by this; however, my art teacher informed me during the portfolio review that i will have to display all the work from the class in the art show.

But I'm not motivated in the slightest to finish any of these pieces.

So I'm curious to know if anyone is unmotivated to finish their pieces as well and how they correct that behavior.

JUST DO IT! i have a few paintings and drawings i just cant get to and i cant find motivation most of time but you got to bite your lip and do it. don't find time make time and look at some artwork from other artist to help motivate your work and try listening to some music, it always helps me and it's the same way for exercising.   Grin

Ah, that makes sense! Smiley I didn't even think of music, that's a great idea!

Bless your heart, you sound like me some 30+ years ago. I had done an honors project in poetry but I never got it revised and bound. It took so much of my energy to get to the point of presenting it to the faculty committee, and it "felt" finished then. I just didn't want to deal with it anymore. So I never did, but always felt embarrassed about that. Ten years later I was diagnosed with ADD, which may explain some of that. Roll Eyes But - learn from my bad example and FINISH THAT THING!  Wink

Lol, I was actually diagnosed with ADD at age three, I deffinitely did not think that could also be affecting me! I finished two of three of the unfinished pieces yesterday. If i get a chance and a camera, I'll try to post what the motivation has helped me to create Smiley
