Here is the crochet retro christmas ornament from roxycraft.com:

For this ornament I just took a regular red bulb and glued white fun fur to the top. The face is just a rub on transfer from Michaels Smiley

This is just a little embroidery on glittery felt.

Here is another super easy one:

Just a glass ornament with some rolled paper and glitter inside.

And these are decorations, not ornaments, but still fun:

Trio of trees:

I've been making lots of elaborate paper snowflakes and hanging them from the ceiling..they look stunning. I also made some of those little pipe cleaner people...I got the idea from The Small Object, here's her shop: http://www.thesmallobject.com/products/ornamentAlphabet.html

I believe the basic idea has been around a long time though...I gave mine red felt hats. They are squishingly adorable.

Also, has anyone mentioned the Pig on Wheels? I made that too. It's a free pattern and Glorious. http://weewonderfuls.typepad.com/wee_wonderfuls/2007/12/a-hearty-thanks.html

Her dirty paws and furry coat,
She ran down the forest slope.
The forest of talking trees,
They used to sing about the birds and the bees.
The bees had declared a war,
The sky wasn't big enough for them all.

I found another super cool/easy decorations project - I think they have a lot of potential for color combos.

http://www.designspongeonline.com/2007/11/diy-wednesdays-modern-paper-ornaments.html

I bet these, and many of the other decorations would be fun projects with kids too.  Thanks for sharing everybody, this is a fun thread!

Thanks for the link!

I tried making some of these out of scraps of scrapbooking paper. They were so easy to do, I think ended up with over a dozen of them!

There are so many great ideas in this thread. I can't wait to try a few more!
