Stuffed voidwalker (from World of Warcraft)

A friend (and guildmaster) saw a stuffed voidwalker (from the MMORPG, World of Warcraft) on Etsy which had been linked from WowInsider. He was really sad to learn that there were only 2 available. Weeks later he was still talking about it... so I decided to make one for him, since I am the most craft-capable guild member. This is what I ended up with:



I had never even tried making a stuffed toy before so it was a bit of a challenge. Not to mention that the blue fur was a total pain to work with, and shed tiny blue bits of fuzz all over my apartment and INSIDE MY SEWING MACHINE. I improvised the pattern, although I would be happy to explain how I did it if anyone else is trying to make one of these for a sad guild master/boyfriend/husband/self. The voidwalker's "base" is actually a plastic cup from the dollar store, covered with grey tissue paper and then wrapped in some black gauze (and secured with about 10 cubic inches of hot glue). He can come out of it, but doesn't stand up by himself. (So you can demonstrate his attacking and aggro-holding capabilities, lol)

The "jewels" are scrapbooking brads (dollar store again!) and I "mounted" some of them inside grommets to make them look bigger and more elaborate. It was a really fun project!

A few days later, my friend opened up free repairs from guild bank funds. So it was worth it.

Very cute, I really should make something WoW related for my husband, he'd go nuts for something like this (although would probably prefer a Succubus).

Lol.  I would adore one of these.  My husband would get a kick out of him.  All of our guildies/friends would prolly brag about one of these forever!  Awesome idea, and you are one of the bestest guildmates EVER!

I think my next wow-related project will be a murloc, but I haven't quite figured out how to do it... they have those gangly little legs. Coat-hangers maybe??

OMGAWESOME!!!! my best friend's a warlock and he'd just LOVE that. we call his voidwalker "teddy bear" because he looks so fluffy in all his blueiness LOL

I literally laughed out loud when I saw this. I want to hug him and squeeze him and call him George, ha ha! Man, do I miss playing WoW...

You should make just a pair of the gauntlets like when they disappear.

Awesome!! I think I saw that same voidwalker on Etsy as well.  I think you got the body shape down a little better than the other person. Envy....I totally want to make one now!

This is awesome, I would love one of these. Im also a wow junkie, When Im not playing wow Im sewing. Im in the middle of making a murloc for my daughter for christmas Ill post pictures when Im done and Im using pipe cleaners for the legs.
