I was stock piling wool sweaters for some reason.  I found this sweater at a yard sale.  It was a large but someone washed it so it shrunk into a small.  I have been wanting a pair of fingerless gloves but with school and work I am too busy to knit a pair.

First I cut the arms off the sweater body.  Then I measured the top of my hand and cut off the excess of the sweater arm.

Turn the sleeve inside out and mark off the spaces between the fingers with pins.  I used the button hole top stitch to sewn each point together. Or you can use a zigzag too.

I then cut a slant on the pinkie side for my little finger.

I then marked off the space between my pointer finger and thumb and then sewed it.  Make sure to leave a hole for your thumb.

Finally I took it in at my wrist under my thumb.  My tailor' chalk was m.i.a. so I used a marker.

Turn it inside right side out and volia!

I think those are adorable! What a great use of a felted sweater. The colors are awesome, too.

Thanks for sharing!

Hurray! I am glad you like them.  It is getting cold here too and I don't want to stop wearing t-shirts.  So I think these make a fair compromise.  They are very warm!  I can't wait to see how yours turn out!

OMG fantastic! I've been wanting some of these for ages (OK a few weeks, since I saw some beautiful but too-pricey-for-me ones at a vintage fair), and now, here you've shown me exactly what to do!  Those are brilliant, and I want to kiss you for sharing a tut, too - *mwah*  And ye, loving the colours Cheesy

I am glad you love it.  I love them too!  They are very warm and toasty.  I am thinking about making another pair but add a convertible glove feature.  Good luck with your gloves!
