Hi there, let me introduce myself.  My name is Lisa and I am starting a Women' s book club/craft share here in Bakersfield.  I am modeling it after a book club I was in when I lived in San Francisco.  I think we should meet either once a month or every six weeks (I kinda prefer 6 weeks so everyone has time to finish the book, but even if you dont you can still come of course, because I believe you shouldnt force yourself to read something if you are not enjoying it. It will be pot luck style and if we are reading a book that focuses on a specific culture or theme our food choices can reflect or expound on that.  I love to bake cookies, cakes and sweets so those will always be available.  I figure we could have the first one at my house and then we can take turns hosting.  If you feel like your place is too small you can just host at my house.  So basically we will choose a book, read it, make food and bring it over, hang out, discuss our reading, work on crafts or share specific techniques.
I like to sew and embroider, as well as do some journaling/paper arts/scrapbooking stuff.  I live with my fiance and our 1 kitten Kingston and our 3 dogs: Lady, Roman & Coco.

If you are interested please email me at crockerlisa@hotmail.com
