Oooooooh... the excitement!
I made a teeny tiny japanese kokeshi doll tonight!

She was made with scrap polymer clay and then hand painted with acrylic paints.

Here she is:

And now one question remains..... to gloss or not to gloss?

Please let me know what you think of her!

********UPDATE**********

Well she has been glossed. entirely Sad
I was going to just gloss her clothes and hair, but then...
I SNEEZED WHILE PAINTING IT ON!!!!
So I ended up smearing it across her face.
Don't you hate when things like that happen!?

Here she is:

I hope she still looks ok... what do you guys think?

Very cute! Must have taken quite some work.
I personally wouldn't gloss her, I like the matte-finish look.

Very cute! If it were me, I would try and gloss her hair and outfit but not her face... or the pink sash. I think it would add interesting contrast, and maybe make the hair and dress look silky! Great job!

She's adorable, is it to be a charm or figurine so to speak?

I would leave it matte or spray it with a matte finish. Glossy I think would make it look like the cheapy dollar store trinkets you can get for a buck.

I love her!

She is adorable! Now I have to go try! Although I doubt mine would turn out nearly as good! I agree about the glossing just the hair and leaving the rest matte. She is fantastic whatever you finally decide to do!

no gloss!!!!!  Just my opinion, but I think it would take so much away from her if you glossed her.

She is soooo cute! I think she looks perfect just how she is, so no gloss is my vote. I wish I had the patient to make super cute stuff with polymer clay like that! x  Grin
