I mailed all mine today. I think the post woman was super excited that I was there 10 minutes before they closed with 22 fabric packed envelopes and still had to fill out 3 customs forms and take care of packing/addressing a priority box - NOT.

Manila Enveloes work great Smiley  I usually use the 9X12 or 6x9 ones (depending on how much fabric I'm sending).  I've found them in packs of 4 or 5 for under $1 @ Menards (now I know they don't have that in OR) but I've got good deals at Walgreens too.  I buy them up whenever there on sale for swaps Smiley

Thanks! I usually pack everything in bubble mailers, but that's a little spendy if it's not really necessary.

I picked up a pack of 25 white 6x9 mailing envelopes for less than $5 at Walmart. They're in a dark blue thin rectangular box and they have peel and stick adhesive flaps.

Edit: The brand is called Evidence by Ampad and they are called "pull & seal catalog envelopes."

When I buy them I use the manila clasp envelopes.  But I also try to recycle the envelopes I get by putting labels over the addresses and taping them closed if I've ripped them when opening.

These are my fabrics.  I am so happy to be included in this swap.  I am sending them out tomorrow.  Sure hope this new grandbaby is a girl cuz if not, one of the other granddaughters will enjoy the new quilt.

Great fabrics, Sandy!

My packets are all sealed and ready to be sent tomorrow.  I stuck a note in each packet, but realized that I sealed at least 2 or 3 envelopes and forgot to include the note.  So for the benefit of all, I'm copying the text below:

"Thanks for swapping with me!  Here are my fabrics I hope you have fun with them.  I truly want you to feel like you can create whatever you want with these fabrics, so if you already have a block picked out or an inspired idea, go for it!  But if not, here are some suggestions of some things I might like:

  • I would like a variety of blocks that are 6.5, 9.5, 12.5 and 18.5 unfinished, so feel free to make a block in any of these sizes.  And, if you decide to make smaller blocks (e.g. 6.5 or 9.5) and want to make more than one, I wouldnt be opposed!  But dont feel obligated.
  • For this quilt, I would prefer most of the blocks feature straight lines and right angles.  Think boxes or box-in-box or log cabin-y style blocks rather than stars and triangles unless you really want to make them.  I am more than OK with simple blocks, too!
  • I LOVE free-pieced or self-designed blocks so if you want to experiment, break free from traditional patterns, or try something new go right ahead!
  • There should be plenty of fabric here, but feel free to add in any fabrics from your stash that you feel work (if you want).

But above all, PLEASE just have fun!  Thats what this swaps all about!

Cant wait to see what you come up with "

Please let me know if you have any questions!
