Hey everyone! Im in Deltona!!!!! Yay!

I wish I could tell you of some awsome craft stores other than the basics.
Have you ever tried Flea markets for craft supplies?
What about craft markets/sewing fairs that have supplies?
Man I'd love to go to something like that...

I frequent the Apopka, Longwood, Altamonte area stores a lot.  of course there's JoAnn but bleh.  Second home on 441 in Apopka across from Apopka Land shopping center has Simplicity patterns for $1, they are used but nonetheless a buck.  They also have craft supplies and get new stuff in all the time.  Across the street from there is Goodwill which I find to be a bust, they just seem to have crap.  There is a store in  Longwood off Wekiva Springs road near Hunt Club called KNIT.  I've never been there but I can only guess what they have!    There is also a store called Another's Treasures on 441 across from the AOK tire mart.  Never been in there but they have antiques, used goods who knows what kind of goodies you might be able to find.  There is also Thrift Zone which has craft supplies, fabric remnants and other notions (zippers, buttons, notions) they are at the corner of 441 and Sheeler in Apopka.  There is also Pearl craft store in Casselberry on 436.  For the quilers there is Material Girl on 441 in Apopka just a couple blocks past Park Avenue and QUILT on 436 in Apopka in the same shopping center as the DMV. 
Hope this list helped shed some light on the lesser known stores in  the area.  Anyone wanna get together let me know I love plundering for treasure!

I'm in the Four Corners - aka: Clermont, the right side at the end of the 1-92. I mostly go to JoAnne's... Michaels disappoints me most of the time. And don't even get me started on Wal-Mart.... *growl*

Just realized there was a local board on craftsters, I've been a member for awhile, so I'm feeling a little slow! I live in Lake Mary (Seminole County). I would LOVE to do craft get togethers, discuss local craft shows, etc. I'm a SAHM but my daughter will be in camp from 9-2 all summer, it will be my first actual break (she'll be 4 in Sept.) and I plan on using every second to craft (though my husband thinks I'll be cleaning and gardening, silly man!) Anyhow I would love to meet other crafters so feel free to PM me.

Howdy, neighbor!  I live in Clermont (192/27) too!  What Joannes do you go to?  The nearest one I can think of is all the way over in Winter Garden (that new outdoor mall w/the SuperTarget)  It's a bit of a drive to go there all the time.

I love Joannes selection of most things, but Micheals has a better selection of unfinished wooden stuff.  Walmart is...a last resort for craftiness.  The first couple times I was in the store accross the street, I thought they didn't even have a craft section!

I go to the one by Super Target on the 192, just past the old Castle building thing... It's not that bad of a drive.

Our Wal-Mart really only plays to the scrapbookers, kiddies, and people looking for really cheap supplies [both price and quality]. Don't even bother asking the person working the fabric table ANYTHING about crafts... I asked one once where I would find Parchment paper and she pointed me to the school supplies...oy! lol

Exactly!  lol  I was thinking the same thing when I saw where you lived. 

Hubby and I have been doing our grocery shopping @ walmart because of the outragous gas prices.   I haven't asked anyone @ walmart anything other than how to use their stupid photo kiosks (not very helpful, but thats what I've come to expect from them) They have a bunch of cute buttons on clearance 2 for $1.  If you have the patience, dig thru the clearance aisle and find some other crafty stuff.  Their scrapbook section is very skimpy.  The supertarget you go to is the one we used to frequent, I loved it. (the one in Winter Garden was closer when we lived @ Buena Vista Place). 

How long have you lived in the area?  I've only been here 1 yr and don't know any of the hidden crafty places.  Although we did go to a Goodwill a few weeks ago and got an AWSOME sheet w/Donald/Scrooge/Clarabelle/etc from the 60s/70s in perfect condition!  We have no idea what to do with it tho...

We've been here two years in November. Before that we were at Mystic Pointe and before that, Alexandria (before it went condo), just behind Downtown Disney. Same with us - we only go to Walmart because it works with our hours and, well... it's just across the street! lol Boy oh boy I can't wait til that Starbucks opens! Me and my bike will be frequent visitors! ;P

It's SO weird [in a good way!] that we live in the exact same complex! lmao Of course, if I find out your my upstairs neighbor, I might have to kick your butt... hahaha ;P

Hubby keeps mentioning the Starbucks too.  Have you seen that the McDonald's needs a carpenter? It's spraypainted on a wooden board lol.   

I guess Sherlock's doesn't have good drinks?  I absolutely LOVE!!!!!!! the bakery! 

(Ummm...you on the 1st floor in Ridgepoint?  I'm sure we're not problem causers...we've lived here a month and have only been home to sleep all month  )
