[Shaun the] Sheep Waffles!!!

For my husband's 26th birthday I wanted to do something special (and very age appropriate) for him.  So I was inspired by that lovable clay-mation sheep--Shaun (of Wallace and Gromit fame).

Here they are:


And here's how I made them:
To start I made the heads, legs, and pupils with melted chocolate.  I melted some chocolate (and I think a bit of butter) and spooned it onto wax paper in the shapes I wanted.  I drew the heads onto the foil before I started with a butter knife.  I just winged the rest (you can see how well that turned out by looking at the eyes...  ). 




The chocolate bits hardened in the fridge over night. 

In the morning I made waffles (by a mix), and then I fried some bananas in butter and maple syrup and placed them on top of the waffles.



Next I covered them in whipped cream, added the chocolate appendages, and quick took pictures as the chocolate was melting. 
(the pupils are so big, because it was next to impossible to assemble the little pupils without them melting)



I think these were the tastyest sheep ever (although it was hard to eat something this cute  )

Hahaha! SO cute!! And now my head is spinning on how to make these into Turkeys!!! (we have Thanksgiving breakfast instead of making a huge Turkey...)

I'm sure you could do turkeys, maybe with coloured chocolate to make tail feathers, or gummy candies in the appropriate colours.

haha these are so sweeett and they look so yummy.. but where do u start? i wouldnt know whether to eat his legs or his fluffy body first..
