So . . . my boyfriend has a pomeranian chihuahua . . . big strong man, iddy biddy dog . . . but it offers me all sort of opportunities to torture, err, I mean, spoil her . . .

Soooo, I heard that Bernat was making a new glow-in-the-dark yarn and I know that poor little Kandi gets cold in the winters when she goes outside . . . well, one thing led to another and this is the result:

Side shot:

Front shot (see how much she loves it!):

And the best part is, it's a turtle neck! So with the neck unfurled . . .
Side shot:

Front shot (observe the joy in her eyes over her new sweater!):

I used the Penny pattern from Knitty (http://www.knitty.com/ISSUEfall03/PATTpenny.html) but I modified it (i.e. screwed up it and then decided to live with it) so that it's ribbed all around instead of just on top.

Note: No dogs were harmed during the making of this sweater. She may hate it now, but she'll sure appreciate it when the snow starts falling!

Aw, she is cute. The sweater is nicely made and it does seem perfect for her. The look on her face is priceless with the turtle neck pulled up. (My dog would give me the same look if I did that to him.) Great job!

There he was, painting the leaves on the trees with different designs. My only question was, why turn something so natural into something so man-made?

How well does it glow? That could be fun to freak out house guest. Just wake up and see a glowing sweater walking around.

Your narration is as funny as the sweater is cute - and it's ADORABLE! I love the t-neck sweaters on dogs. I have two dachshunds, so if I did one of these, I'd need twice the yarn, just for their length, LOL! Great work!

Capt_Jordi: Your post made me laugh so hard, I would freak out if in the dead of night I went for a glass of water and a glowing sweater was floating around. xD

Buuut the sweater is so cute, I almost like it better ribbed all around instead of just the top, I should get some glow in the dark yarn, so cute! Cheesy Is it soft?

It actually glows pretty well. It's kinda funny because it sorta looks like a disembodied sweater just running around the house. I thought about trying to get a pic of it, but my past experiences with trying to get glow-in-the-dark things on camera have resulted in a lot of headaches so I'm not sure that I'm up for the challenge just yet . . . unless maybe someone has some tips on how to take pictures of glow-in-the-dark items?
