WOW! I am taking a break from my own kitchen and hopped on Craftster and I'm impressed! I'm tearing down similar busy wallpaper and am surrounded by big wooden cabinets. Wonderful inspiration!

Those are beautiful...we had custom cabinets put in when we built our house 11 years ago and I'd never do it again! Too much money and I feel like I'm forever stuck with "blah" oak cabinets.

What kind of paint did you use on the cabinets? I'd love to paint mine, but, I'm so afraid they will "look painted." Yours do not. They look great. You are right, it is a fresh departure from eveyones white or wood cabinets and granite tops. At least that is what EVERYONE I know remodels with. LOL

We used standard interior paint.  I would suggest using a glossy finish.  We used eggshell (one step up from flat) and I really wish we had gone with a more shiny finish to make it easier to clean.  There are a few small places where we drip water and sauces occasionally and the glossy paint should do much better with that type of situation.
