I guess I haven't posted in a while... I always forget it is Friday lol

Wow - I love Sunset Lagoon! It looks so fluffy and light.

Here's what I've been working on this week:

These batts I carded...


...Became this yarn! "PollyAnn" - 352 yards of wool and nylon glitz




This is "Jordan" - 330 yards, wool from Sheep Shed Studio




And I started a scarf with the tussah silk I posted last week:

Been a busy week for me, but not on the wheel.

Natural colored Navajo Churro, double-plyed - just over 200 yards:

Wonderful as usual! 

I have my very first handspuns!!  Both were spun on a drop spindle.

This was my very first one.  The roving was from Hobby Lobby and was very tough to spin.  I ended up predrafting a bunch of it.


My second one.  It's a Merino cross single plied with fun fur.  The colors were pretty muted and muddy in some areas but I got it for 99cents on ebay so I can't complain, it's just practice!  It's spun thick and thin and was MUCH easier to spin than the hobby lobby crap.

Oooh, I like the colors in Jordan! I went to the new fiber store that opened up here, hopefully once school stops being so crazy I can go down there and they can teach me how to spin! I usually learn better in person than just through books and over the internet. I want to make pretty yarn like all of you!

Subtly Crazy, Batts I carded from fiber left from previous carding sessions ("treasure" fiber) and handfuls of super soft grey suri alpaca.. fun color and texture.. but more subtle because of the consistant alpaca... which makes it super soft too!!

I have three for this week


Sugar and Spice - 50/50 merino tencil. Spun for my aunt. It's alittle plain for my taste.


Terrah - Spun from "Twig" batts by Liz at Hobbledehoy(she is a fiber genius). Merino, bamboo, alpaca, and sparkle. So delectably soft!


Oh Sunny Day - Corespun from hand-dyed mohair locks. Full of texture and curls. Supah fun!

You all inspire me so much!  I would take up most of this thread going on just about the yarns posted - so lets just say I love it all so far.

Here are mine for the week - the 3rd and 4th yarns from my spinning class - I am slowly but surely getting better!

Merino, corridale, tencel, firestar, and BFL all crazy in the mix = Turning of the Leaves



This was my first plying on the wheel, not super pretty but REALLY soft.  Merino and tencel = Royal Pain (as in what a royal PITA this was for me to ply  )
