A few weeks before halloween I decided I'd be Leela from Futurama.  And being the weirdo that I am, I also thought it would be a good idea to knit my wig and eye.  Luckily, it wasn't as bad as I had imagined.  I didn't use a pattern, I just made it up as I was going.  About two days and I had this:

and bonus brainslug:

all together:

for reference:

The brainslug was knit from this pattern -------->  http://www.johnnysstew.com/pattern/brainslug.html  I ran out of time so didn't make the tentacles.  Thanks for looking!

The front view is impeccable. Excellent work! And you can never go wrong with a brainslug regardless of tentacle count  Wink

I first saw it, and I was like, this better be Leela. Lo and behold, pleasantly surprised. Very imaginative, and hilarious!

Wow, great job! I considered being Leela for halloween but couldn't figure out how I would have pulled off the one eye thing. Maybe I'll be her next year!

It seems that different people have an idea of what I am, and what I should be. And then there's me.

I knew this was Leela from the pic on the frontpage before I even opened it!  I LOVE this!  I would totally either remove the eye and wear that as a winter hat or make a little felt nibbler for next year  Grin

I saw the image in a thumbnail and it looked like some sort of 'jester' inspired doing, but fullsize it is spot on.

Nice work.

Very cool.

I think you may be on to something with textile masks, much cooler than plastic.
