This purse nearly sucked the life out of me!  I am very pleased with it and I even gave myself a pat on the back.  It is like nothing I have ever done.  I bow to all of you who make messenger bags.

My Friend Kelley really wanted a new bag she could hang over her shoulder or across her chest, depending on mood or situation.  No pattern was used, I just knew the measurements I wanted.  After making it, it seems much bigger than I think she wanted.  Over all, 12"x12"x4".  I really planned things out and took great notes which will help me make more.

BTW - my Husband reluctantly agreed to model the bag! Cheesy  At 6'5", the bag looks normal size for him.

I should have stuffed it with tissue to show the squared form.  It is not this wonky looking.  I still need to press it.

Front flap is intentionally 2" shorter than height of bag

Back with large pocket

Flap open showing little magnetic pocket for keys, cell phone...

Side showing D rings allowing straps to be adjustable - the adjustable portion is on the other side, not in view.  Sad

Inside showing pockets - this looks really messy but it is not

C&C welcomed!

Thanks for looking! Smiley

Great looking bag, I happen to love huge bags so I would carry this with pride! I hope she likes it, you can never carry too much stuff! I've made a couple messenger bags and everytime I start a new one I think "why am I doing this to myself?"

Your bag is beautiful!  I love the combo of fabrics and the hardware, too.  I know what you mean about taking notes while doing a project~you'll thank yourself later.  Where do you get your hardware, if you don't mind me asking?

Thank you to everyone!

I get the magnetic snaps and D rings at Walmart of all places.  They have the best deal.  If not there then Joanns.

Very nice bag.  I love messenger-type bags.  I find them too big to carry comfortably, though.
Many thanks to your husband for his modeling.  and thanks to you for sharing.
