Transformer Bumblebee

My nephew wanted to be Bumblebee from the Transformers for Halloween so my mom made him this costume...

(blacked out his face cause my bro/sis-in-law never got back to me to let me know if I could post the pics or not)


We bought black sweatpants and sweatshirt as the base, then spraypainted a bike helmet, and finished up with a lot of spraypainted foam hotglued or velcroed into place! To do the Transformers symbol my mom created a stencil then painted it on with craftpaint.

When he said he wanted to be Bumblebee my mom first went to the store to see what their costume looked like to get ideas but when she saw it she decided to go off of the toys instead. It worked out really well being able to turn it over in her hands to see how to make the costume. I've been showing her the replies and she's really happy everyone likes it so much!

Wow! That is some seriously great work
I really like how proportionate he's come out. I've seen a few home-made Bumblebee's and Optimus' who just don't look right.

I bet he was a massive hit trick-or-treating!
