Oatmeal Green Tea Facial Bar
I made a 16 ounces of green tea, and let it cool down, then mixed in the lye solution. I used olive oil, coconut oil, palm oil, almond oil , and castor oil for the base oils. I had green tea fragrance on hand so I decided to use it as well in scenting the 5 pound batch of soap. I always wanted to use oatmeal, so I figured using it in a facial bar would be ideal. I topped the mixture with oatmeal and this is my end result.

This is the soap batch poured into the slab for 24 hours till it hardens enough to cut.

Here is a better picture of my soap after it was cut into bars.

I really love the look of these, so creamy, and smell so soft like green tea.

Thanks such really nice compliments. I make a lot of soap but get to lazy to post them. I already post on my blog and even then I don't post everything. That is a lot of work for me, considering I have three kids, and one on the way. I still don't know how I find time to do all of this.

When I first cut my soap I thought wow these look like oatmeal bars, good enough to eat. That is when you know your a great soap maker.

I got my soap mold on Ebay, and it was really cheap. It holds up to 12lbs batch, but I use the dividers to make smaller batches.

Sounds yummy! Did you color it or is that color from a reaction with the tea for liquid? I love using clays in facial bars, rose clay for sensitive or mature skin, and bentonite for oily skin. So, I'm thinking clay plus oatmeal would rock!

I didn't color it, it reacted to the green tea, which scared me at first but I went with the flow. I really did expect it to be green. ha ha ha ha ha ha ha.
